Mission

We are grateful to God for His allowing us to be involved in a gospel partnership which seeks to share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ with all people everywhere.

We seek to support Bible based witness, teaching and evangelism both nationally and globally.

We are keen to encourage members of St John’s church family to take part in both short term and long term mission. Each year we look to have a special Mission Supper, where we meet together, hear the experiences of those who have served in overseas mission over the year, from those we are supporting on the mission field and from speakers able to encourage and stimulate our further interest and activity in mission.

More specifically,

In the UK we support:

• North West Partnership
• Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF)
• Oak Hill Theological College

Further afield, we support:

• Crosslinks, specifically:
  • Richard and Bianca Reeve working in Mozambique.
  • Jirka and Keira Kralovi working in the Czech Republic.
• Intercontinental Church Society (ICS)
• Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF)

And we also pray for the wider persecuted Christian Church around the world:

• The Barnabas Fund is one organisation that raises awareness and encourages support for the persecuted church.

Each Christmas we support the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal, orgainised by Samaritan's Purse.
